Growing up in rural Idaho, I never knew that research is what I always wanted to do. My experience at BYU has given me the opportunity to become of a part of the scientific process and cultivate useful skills. I am currently working on a team that uses molecular biology techniques to study the epigenetic changes that occur in brain development and addiction. I plan on pursuing a PhD in neuroscience so that I can teach at a university and research the physiological components of mental illness.
