Biography
I joined Dr. Stark's lab in January of 2011 as a Junior and stayed with him until I graduated in April of 2012. Dr. Stark was instrumental in helping me get hands-on experience with primary literature, basic lab techniques and embryology. The mentoring I received while in his lab allowed me to find a PhD position at the University of Georgia where I worked on transgenic technologies in chickens and blackhead disease in Turkeys. Throughout my PhD, I have frequently applied the skills, techniques and knowledge I received while working in Dr. Stark's lab to my own research projects. I am currently working as a postdoc with the intent of working in academia or the poultry industry. My wife and I have 6 children and one more on the way. If you are an undergrad wanting to learn or be challenged, I would highly recommend working in Dr. Stark's lab.
