Isaac has been conducting primary research in various settings over the past four years. His earliest studies focused on novel antibiotic discovery through a collaboration with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During this project he developed and implemented new lab techniques which optimized growth of multiple unique microbes upon individualized media beds within the same agar plate. This antibiotic work led to a relationship with the Mayo Clinic-Rochester where Isaac worked alongside multiple oncology teams. Major objectives of this work included optimization of histological imaging softwares and re-construction of better cellular scaffolds for in vitro cancer studies. Continuing forward with his passion for translation science, Isaac now works to understand the effects of SARS Cov-2 on epigenetic signatures known to influence human reproductive physiology. It is hoped that this work will result in a genetic assay that accurately identifies pathological aberrance in the epigenome and can non-invasively screen for male-pattern infertility.
